Milkalicious A Breastfeeding Lifestyle Milkalicious is creating a new retail concept for breastfeeding. Founded in 2008 by  Jennifer Ritchie, a full-time working mom and wife, Milkalicious is a business created by her personal cause to provide community-based, long-term support for breastfeeding mothers. Through her own experiences, Jennifer saw the need for a more personalized approach to educating and supporting new mothers about breastfeeding, as well as incorporating it in their return to the workplace. With a premier boutique location in Aliso Viejo, CA, Milkalicious launched a nursing apparel and supplements line in 2010. Jennifer received her training through UCSD, and is associated with the Orange County Breastfeeding Coalition. She is married and has two children ages 3 and 6 (both she successfully breastfed). to see us carry? Support for a New Mom Hi Jen, I was feeling a lot of pressure from my
family to stop nursing and I had no clue how to have a life and nurse at
the same time. The supplies you sold me are great but beyond that, it
felt great to talk to someone who understood how stressed I was. I feel overjoyed about nursing now and I am
super relaxed. My milk volume has actually gone up by just having a more
positive outlook. Your boutique is so much more than that. You have
taken a Mom, who was frankly, pretty depressed and caused her entire
outlook change. My Baby, Husband and I thank you so much! You and your shop are making a HUGE difference. Thank you, Nursing after a Breast Augmentation After having a breast augmentation, I was extremely concerned about being able to breastfeed my baby (despite being told by my surgeon that it should not be an issue.) I spent a lot of time researching potential problems, but nothing compared to the support and education that I received from the staff at Milkalicious. I did have significant difficulty with milk production as well as latching in the first weeks following his birth, and without the help from Jen Ritchie, would not have been able to continue breastfeeding. Always providing a solution to every question, not only was Jen was extremely supportive and helpful, she was the calming force in a sleep deprived mother. I felt invigorated and inspired after every appointment, and renewed to feed my baby. (And, I now have a freezer full of pumped milk to show for all of my hard work and dedication that would not have otherwise been possible without Jen!!) The Milkalicious staff makes you feel not only respected as a woman, but treats every one of their customers as a friend. Changing Our Lives I just wanted to personally thank you from the bottom of my heart for changing our lives. Literally. The day before I met with you, I was in tears all afternoon. She was having such a hard time nursing and was so miserable. It was all just so overwhelming and stressful. I felt helpless. I didn't know what the problem was...Was she getting enough? Was it her reflux? Did she have a milk protein allergy? It was almost too much to take on. It frustrated me that I couldn't tell what was wrong and why we were having these nursing issues. If this was 3 years ago when I had my first daughter, I don't know who I would have called for help. I was so grateful you and Milkalicious were there for me this time around.
